A phytocannabinoid is a molecule synthesized by plants. There are 113 known phytocannabinoids in the cannabis plant, including CBD and CBG. Phytocannabinoids are used to treat a number of human and animal ailments. In 2008, the journal of Neuroendocrinology Letters published a proposal that some of the chronic health problems many people face may be due to an underlying endocannabinoid deficiency, including migraines and fibromyalgia. As our understanding of phytocannabinoids and their relationship with the human body grows, millions of patients all around the world are gaining access to treating conditions that were previously untreatable.
To understand phytocannabinoids, we first have to understand our bodies’ cannabinoid receptors. When receptors interact with a cannabinoid, they send molecular-messages throughout the cells, tissues, organs, and body. We can think of a cannabinoid and a cannabinoid receptor like a lock and key. A cannabinoid “unlocks” the cannabinoid receptor by physically interacting with it- initiating changes in cells and opening the door to enormous medical benefits for the body and mind. A cannabinoid is a molecule that activates these molecular-messengers, regardless of whether the cannabinoid came from our bodies (an endocannabinoid), or if it came from a plant (a phytocannabinoid). Endocannabinoids activate the same receptors as phytocannabinoids found in Cannabis. This explains why there is enormous medical potential for the use of phytocannabinoids; our bodies possess an endogenous system that responds to what is already present in our bodies and in plants.

Within the Cannabis plant, there are 113 known phytocannabinoids. Some have been found to be more useful than others to medical patients. These components include:
The knowledge of how the endocannabinoid system relates to our physiology and medical needs grows on a daily basis because doctors, biologists and chemists contribute towards research constantly. There are two known groups of cannabinoid receptors; CB1 and CB2. Cannabinoid receptors are classified by the types of cannabinoids that they bind. For example, THC binds the CB1 receptor while CBD weakly binds the CB2 receptor. When a cannabinoid meets with a cannabinoid receptor, the message begins to resonate throughout the cell and eventually reaches out to surrounding cells in a tissue, adjacent tissues in an organ, and neighboring organs in a body. This is why the benefits of phytocannabinoids are so rich; CB1 and CB2 receptors are found throughout the body and cannabinoids help to reestablish a homeostasis that has been disrupted by genetics or lifestyle factors.
There are many conditions that are terribly debilitating and life destroying yet don't manifest any visual signs that others would identify as an illness or disability just by looking at you. They include autoimmune conditions (like lupus and hashimotos), mental health conditions (such as depression, OCD and Bipolar), chronic pain conditions (like CRPS, EDS, fibromyalgia, dysautonomia, etc), respiratory conditions (such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, etc) and heart conditions to name just a few. People who suffer from these illnesses, despite looking healthy on the outside most of the time, can be severely restricted and disabled by their symptoms.
The answer… beyond belief. As many with CRPS know, it sucks having this pain that refuses to go away. So we started looking outside of western medicine. Outside of Opiods and medications with many side effects. That’s when we found CBD. I didn’t think it would help because nothing else did. Much to my surprise, it did help. It took away the muscle spasms and the extreme pain. It helped me regain confidence. And walk again without throbbing pain. It meant a lot to me how Jimmie was so helpful and kind and compassionate. I can’t begin to thank her for all she does for me, it’s a huge blessing! Jimmie Faye's CBD was the biggest life changer I have had in the last year.

Happy shopping Payton is an aspiring equestrian who suffered permanent nerve damage from a horse falling on her in 2017. Since then, she and her mom have exhausted finances paying for ongoing medical expenses and they need help for an upcoming surgery. Payton continues to use her horses as her legs on the days she can't walk on her own. Her attitude is incredible, as she smiles through excruciating pain that is continual. Beth, her mom, is a single parent who works hard to care for herself, her daughter and maintain their very simple, but wholesome life in Cotopaxi, Colorado. If you can help, you would be blessing them a great deal. Payton's next surgery is scheduled Dec. 19, 2018. Thank you.
-Pam Riehl On September 12, a horse fell on me. It landed on my left leg and crushed it. As a result, I now have complex regional nerve syndrome. This is a painful condition, in which high levels of nerve impulses are sent to my leg. It causes my leg to swell at random, change colors—sometimes it is white, red or gray with white spots. The temperature of my leg also changes from freezing cold to burning hot. Often, my knee fills with fluid. Random bruises appear all over from my lower thigh to the tips of my toes. It’s really painful.
Some days I can somewhat walk, other days I can’t put any weight on my leg. My knee usually feels as though there is sand in the joint, and as though I’m wearing tight pants that are cutting into the back of my knee. I’m grateful that I have wonderful horses I can ride. They take great care of me. We have a deal if they will be my legs, I will be their thumbs For all who have asked me “What’s wrong with your leg?” or similar questions, Here’s an answer. I have Complex Regional Nerve Syndrome, also known as CRPS.
Complex Regional Nerve Syndrome or CRPS, formerly known as RSD Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, is a progressive disease of the Autonomic Nervous System, and more specifically, the Sympathetic Nervous System. The pain is characterized as constant, extremely intense, and out of proportion to the original injury. The pain is typically accompanied by swelling, skin changes, extreme sensitivity, and can often be debilitating. It usually affects one or more of the four limbs but can occur in any part of the body and in over 70% of the victims it spreads to additional areas. There are FOUR Main Symptoms/Criteria of CRNS:
There are a great many additional symptoms that can also occur over the course of the disease. Not everybody will have all of the symptoms and the symptoms may change over time due to the medications they are on, the treatments they are receiving, and even such things as time of day/month/season, and whether or not she/he is currently under excess stress! Symptoms: - changes in skin temperature (warmer or cooler compared to the healthy/opposite limb). - changes in skin color (skin may appear red, dusky, covered with red dots, cyanotic, blotchy, or pale). - hypersensitivity to touch, sound, vibration, wind, noise, temperature, barometric pressure changes, water temperature, etc. - irritability. - depression, fatigue, and/or insomnia. - changes in hair/nail growth (nails can become brittle, cracked, or grooved - increased/decreased hair/nail growth). - skin can become shiny, changes in sweating patterns - increase/decreases. - bone and muscle loss/changes, atrophy/weakness. - swelling and stiffness in affected joints. - throbbing, crushing, tingling, shooting, aching, stabbing, burning pain in the affected area. - tremors (shakes). - problems moving the affected extremity/body part. - migraines/cluster headaches. These symptoms can come and go and alternate over time, changing from month to month and year to year depending what stage you are in is in, what treatment you are on, what medications you are using, how successful these treatments are, how the disease is progressing, and/or what other disease(s) might be introduced along the way. One of the many problems for Doctors in treating this disease is that many patients present differently and the symptoms can vary. |
